5 X 10 MINUTE WORKOUTS IN 2.5 HOURS

New format for Barcelona, Miami, Houston, Mayhem and Los Angeles 2022!

Battle Cancer Berlin and Battle Cancer London will stay in the previous format of 4 x 9 minute workouts for 2022. Read more about them below

 

THE CHALLENGE

Your team will face five intense functional fitness workouts.

Each workout lasts 10 minutes and is followed by 20 minutes of rest before you take on the next one until all five have been completed.

Your team will be scored in each workout with comparable results across the event's Male, Female and Mixed divisions. 

Increase your score by fundraising for your chosen cancer charity in our Fundraising AMRAP - as much raised as possible, where each £/$/€ = 1 rep.

HOW IT WORKS

WARM UP

Opening welcome and warm up for your heat

WORKOUT 1

Take on your first of five workouts, followed by 20 minutes rest

REPEAT X 5

Move straight into workouts 2, 3, 4 & 5 with just 20 minutes rest between each

FINISH

SUPERCHARGE YOUR SCORE

The Fundraising AMRAP

Earn a higher place on the leaderboard by fundraising in our Fundraising AMRAP - as much raised as possible - where every £/$/€ = 1 rep.

Your team can choose any cancer charity to raise funds for in the lead-up to the event then submit your total at Registration on the day.

 

THE WORKOUTS

Combining functional fitness movements with endurance and teamwork creates a gruelling 2.5 hour challenge for your team to overcome. It's not easy, but we've designed them so that anyone can take on the workouts regardless of fitness level, ability or age.

EQUIPMENT & WEIGHTS

We use simple kit, bodyweight movements like bear crawls, partner carries, and accessible weights.


Weights for men/women: 

  • Bumper plate - 20kg/10kg

  • Dumbbell - 20kg/12.5kg

  • Kettlebell - 20kg/12kg

We also use bikes, rowers, ski ergs, sandbags, d-balls, worms, plyo boxes, benches and other innovative kit. Where weights are heavier, multiple members of the team can work together. We always offer modified movements for those with restricted movement and adaptive athletes.
