WHAT IS THE BATTLE CANCER CHALLENGE?

about the challenge

The Battle Cancer Challenge is a strength and fitness challenge for teams of four. The goal is to hit 20,000 reps in 90 minutes across two rounds of five fitness stations.

A rep is a metre moved, weight lifted, rep completed or £/$/€/AED raised.

On signing up, each team will pledge to fundraise a minimum of 200 £/$/€ for their chosen cancer charity. Most teams smash this target, raising thousands for charity and changing lives with fitness. Every £/$/€ raised is another rep towards your 20,000 rep goal.

The challenge is the same across our host cities with comparable global leaderboards so we can crown winning teams the fittest fundraisers in the world.

With two divisions there’s a place for all fitness levels and abilities.

Together, we can change lives through fitness.

Round 01

STATION 01 Get ready to kickstart your journey at Station 01, where you and your team will face the Assault Air Bike. This station is all about unleashing your raw power and endurance as you pedal like there's no tomorrow. Each team has a mere five minutes to give it their all on two Assault Air Bikes, pushing their limits to achieve the highest wattage and distance travelled possible.

STATION 02 At Station 02, your team will take on the Synchro Barbell Deadlift. This station is all about raw power, coordination, and teamwork as you and your team aim to lift the most weight together with synchro lifts - 1 athlete per bar at one time. The Synchro Barbell Deadlift tests your strength, core stability, and teamwork. It's a full-body workout that engages your legs, back, and core which require precise coordination and ultimate team strength. Bar weights will be 40kg/90lbs & 60kg/135lbs

STATION 03 Welcome to Station 03, where your team will take on the Assault Rowing Machine. This station is all about endurance and willpower as you and your team aim to row the maximum distance possible on two rowers in just five minutes. The Assault Rowing Machine will test your cardiovascular endurance and upper body strength. It's a full-body workout that engages your legs, back, and arms, providing an intense aerobic challenge to rack up some big distance.

STATION 04 Step into Station 04, where your team will take on the Burpee Jump-Over challenge. This station is all about agility and intensity as you and your team aim to complete as many synchro burpee jump-overs as possible in 5 minutes. All four athletes will be working in synchro together to complete the reps. The Burpee Jump-Over is a dynamic and high-intensity exercise that combines cardio and strength. It targets your full body, engaging your legs, core, and upper body, while also testing your endurance. The jump-over element adds an extra layer of teamwork and the pressure not to fall behind! Your score will be the total synchro reps completed as a team.

STATION 05 Step into Station 05, where your team will embark on the Team Distance Run challenge. This station is all about endurance, strategy, and teamwork as you and your team aim to cover the maximum distance in 5 minutes. However, there's a twist – only one athlete can run at a time. The Team Distance Run Challenge is a dynamic exercise that pushes your cardiovascular limits while emphasising communication and co-ordination among team members. This station is not only a test of individual fitness, but also your ability to work as a cohesive unit in your changeovers! Your score will be the total metres run during the time frame.

Round 02

STATION 01 Get ready to return to Station 01 for round 2, where you and your team will face the Assault Air Bike for a second time. This station is all about unleashing your raw power and endurance as you pedal like there's no tomorrow. Each team has a mere five minutes to give it their all on two Assault Air Bikes, pushing their limits to achieve the highest wattage and distance travelled possible.

STATION 02 Welcome to Station 02 of Round 2, where your team will take on the Synchro Dumbbell Snatch challenge. This station is all about raw power, precision, and teamwork as you and your team aim to perform the most synchronised dumbbell snatches in 5 minutes where two athletes are working at a time. The Synchro Dumbbell Snatch combines strength, coordination, and teamwork. It targets various muscle groups, including your legs, back, and shoulders. STATION 03 Welcome back to Station 03, where your team will take on the Assault Rowing Machine. This station is all about endurance and willpower as you and your team aim to row the maximum distance possible on two rowers in just 5 minutes. The Assault Rowing Machine will test your cardiovascular endurance and upper body strength. It's a full-body workout that engages your legs, back, and arms, providing an intense aerobic challenge to rack up some big distance. Your score is taken from the rower with the shortest distance in meters.

STATION 04 During Round 2 at Station 04, your team will take on the Synchro Sandbag Over Shoulder challenge. This station is all about raw power, precision, and teamwork as you and your team aim to complete the most synchronised sandbag over-the-shoulder lifts in 5 minutes. Two athletes will work at the same time. The Synchro Sandbag Over-the-Shoulder is a strongman exercise that combines strength, coordination, and teamwork. It targets multiple muscle groups, including your legs, back, and shoulders, promoting strength and muscle development. Performing it in perfect synchro with your teammate adds an extra test of how much you can push as a team. Sandbag weights are 20kg/45lbs & 30kg/66lbs
