WHY DUBAI?
Dubai's fitness scene is world-class - a city that takes athletic performance seriously and hosts events at a scale and quality that few places can match. The Battle Cancer community in Dubai has grown significantly since we first brought the event here, with athletes drawn from across the UAE and the wider expat community.
For 2026, we've done something different: Battle Dubai runs afternoon and evening heats, keeping athletes out of the midday heat and turning the competition floor at Skydive Dubai Palm Dropzone into a high-energy night session against one of the most spectacular backdrops in the world. The Palm Dropzone, with views across the Dubai Marina skyline, makes for a setting you won't forget.
All fundraising for Dubai must be done via YallaGive, in line with UAE fundraising regulations. Please check your Fundraising Toolkit for specific details on how to set up your campaign.
WHAT MAKES HYBRID 3|20 DIFFERENT?
1 / HYBRID 3|20 FORMAT
Hybrid 3|20 is Battle Cancer's answer to the growing demand for individual competition. Unlike the Battle Cancer Challenge, which is built around teamwork and shared work, Hybrid 3|20 is all about individual performance. Every rep counts towards your own final score.
2 / WORKOUT FORMAT
You'll complete 3 minutes of max reps at each station, followed by 2 minutes to transition, across 9 stations in 3 challenge zones, before finishing with a 20-minute max-distance run. Your final score combines total reps, run metres and fundraising points, rewarding athletes who pace themselves intelligently from start to finish.
3 / BUILT FOR HYBRID ATHLETES
If you train for HYROX, functional fitness or hybrid racing, Hybrid 3|20 offers a familiar style of competition with a unique purpose. You'll test strength, endurance and pacing while raising funds for cancer charities, making it one of Northern Ireland's only hybrid fitness competitions with fundraising at its core.
HOW TO PREPARE
The additional 20-minute run at the end of Hybrid 3|20 makes running fitness more important here than in the team Challenge format. Build your aerobic base with regular Zone 2 running (comfortable, conversational pace) and complement it with interval work - shorter, harder efforts that train your body to perform when fatigued.
For the 9 stations, work through the same functional movement pool as the team format. The 3-minute blocks are shorter and more intense than the team event's 5-minute stations - pacing strategy is critical. Athletes who go at 90% on the first few stations and have something left for the run will consistently outscore athletes who redline early.
