FUNDRAISING

Every Rep Makes an Impact

Fundraising isn’t required to enter, but it’s at the heart of what makes this event special - and the community in Spain always shows up.

We suggest that every athlete aims to fundraise a minimum of €50.

Our official partner charity is CRIS Cancer Foundation but you can choose any cancer charity to support.

WHY BARCELONA?

Barcelona is one of Europe's leading destinations for functional fitness, CrossFit and endurance sport, making it the perfect home for Battle Cancer Barcelona. From local CrossFit boxes to HYROX competitors and everyday gym-goers, the city's fitness community embraces challenging events that combine performance with purpose, bringing together athletes from across Spain for an unforgettable day of competition and fundraising.

Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc, at the foot of the city's famous Olympic hill, provides an iconic setting for the Battle Cancer Challenge. Competing in the same district that hosted the 1992 Olympic Games adds to the experience, creating an inspiring atmosphere for athletes, spectators and supporters throughout the event.

Our official charity partner for Battle Cancer Barcelona is CRIS Cancer Foundation, one of Spain's leading cancer research charities. Join us on Saturday 12 December for the final Battle Cancer event of 2026 and help raise vital funds for people affected by cancer while taking on one of Spain's most inspiring charity fitness competitions.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY

1 / Event Schedule & Arrival

Your team will be assigned a heat time - typically a 90-minute window from warm-up to completion. You'll also be given a time before your heat to register, collect your t-shirts, and warm up.

2 / WORKOUT FORMAT

The competition floor is set across three zones. You'll work 5 minutes at each station - max reps - followed by 4 minutes of rest before the floor crew moves all teams simultaneously to the next station. The format is fast, loud, and relentlessly paced. There's a DJ and MC throughout, and the atmosphere during peak heats is unlike anything in UK fitness.

3 / EVENT VILLAGE & SPECTATORS

Outside your heat, spectators can watch from the sidelines for free. There's a warm-up zone, recovery area, and sponsor activations on site. Food and drink details are announced closer to the event.

HOW TO PREPARE

Training for Battle Cancer Barcelona means preparing for all three challenge zones: Endurance, Burn and Power. Your team will complete nine stations featuring the movements used on the London competition floor, including the Bike Erg, Row Erg, Ski Erg, Box Jump Overs, Hand-Release Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, Sandbag Squats, Dumbbell Devil's Press and Deadlifts. Build confidence in each movement and practise working efficiently as a team before event day.

A solid 8-week Battle Cancer training plan should include 2–3 strength sessions each week, 2 conditioning sessions using machines such as the rower, bike or ski erg, and at least one workout that combines strength and cardio under fatigue. Replicating the pace and transitions of the Battle Cancer Challenge will leave you well prepared for competition day.

Train with your team whenever possible. Practising transitions, communication and pacing together is one of the biggest advantages you can have when taking on Battle Cancer Barcelona, helping your team move smoothly through every station and maximise your score.
