We started week three of our UK City League challenge heading east to lovely Norwich at CrossFit Spitfire.
Before every session our founder, Scott, speaks of the scary stats we’ve unfortunately been given by leading UK cancer charities. And every time we hear them (approx 90 times so far on our trip) we get goosebumps at the knowledge of how COVID has affected cancer.
After leaving Norwich, we headed to Iceni Training in Colchester. The winners of our annual London event from 2019 were amongst the teams to take to the floor! It’s always so good to see new and old friends, thank you all so much for digging deep and giving your all during the challenge!
We say it before any brutal Battle Cancer workout; think of someone, remember someone, or celebrate someone, when the workout is getting tough, that focus will get you through.
We then headed south to Southampton to drop into our friend, Kelly Friel's box, CrossFit Southampton. With just a weeks notice, this gym managed to pull together a huge amount of teams for us to take over their classes, what an incredible community!
We had so many comments on how GOOD it felt to be working in a team environment again, and how GREAT it felt to work out for a cause, so thank you for pushing yourselves to help us Battle Cancer.
Finally we were home to bring the UK City League tour to a close at our very own Move Forward Gym in Otter St Mary, East Devon. Our brand new members got involved and our head coach, Luke, led a kids team who left everything they had on the floor. They were incredible!
The perfect way to end a wonderful three weeks of fitness and fundraising - a huge thank you to all of our community that got involved. Here's to Battle Cancer 2021!
