Privacy Policy
Who we are. Battle Cancer is run by BCMM Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, VAT number GB336852775. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. To contact us about your data, use the details on our Contact page.
What we collect and why
Event registration. When you enter an event, our registration partner Competition Corner collects your name, email, gender, date of birth, shirt size, team and affiliate, waiver acceptance and payment details. We use this to run the event, communicate with you about it, and meet our insurance and safety obligations. Lawful basis: contract.
Register interest and newsletters. When you sign up on our website, we collect your email address, your chosen city and team size, and your consent to marketing. We use this to tell you when entries open and to send news about Battle Cancer events. Lawful basis: consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Fundraising. If you fundraise, the fundraising platform you choose collects your details under its own privacy policy. We receive fundraising totals and page names.
Website analytics and advertising. With your consent via the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure how the site is used and how our adverts perform. If you decline, these tools do not run. We do not send health data to any advertising platform.
Contact forms and email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer you.
Who we share it with
Service providers who act on our instructions: Competition Corner (registration and payments), Flodesk (email), Wix (website hosting and forms), Google (analytics), Meta (advertising measurement), our insurer, and event delivery partners such as venues and medical teams where needed for safety. We never sell personal data.
Where it is held
Some providers store data outside the UK and EU, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on UK and EU approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
Registration records: up to six years after the event, for legal and insurance reasons. Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe. Analytics data: according to the provider's retention settings.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU data protection authority. Contact us via the Contact page and we will respond within one month.
Cookies
Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings on this site.
